About Me
Hi, I’m Maddie
My Story
Journey On was born out of my own path of recovery - recovering from burnout, crippling people pleasing, years of overwhelm and navigating a terminal illness diagnosis of a close family member.
It all began in my late 20s, with my head down (literally and metaphorically), living in London and churning myself into the ground working 50+ hour weeks with late nights and booze filled weekends. Things began to shift in 2018 when I took the leap and traded London for the green hills of the Peak District.
Moving didn’t magically solve everything and many of my struggles followed me up the M1. And then, in 2019, BANG my entire world changed. Let’s call this my ROCK BOTTOM. I was living week to week, riddled with self doubt, navigating tough jobs, and then out of nowhere my mum was diagnosed with incurable cancer. ROCK. BOTTOM
Feeling utterly helpless and not in control of my own life, I was at a crossroads. I had a strong sense that this was the moment that I could either jump off the tracks and descend into a life of chaos or channel my energy into something better. On a whim and scrambling around for something to hold on to, I signed up for a free week of yoga classes and applied for a charity place at the London Marathon. These steps set my life on a completely different journey.
Make it stand out.
Whilst training for the marathon and developing my yoga practice, I began to build up my resilience. Life became more stable, I began to equip myself with a plethora of tools to support myself (meditation, breathwork, journaling, hiking - just to name a few) .Since 2019, I have also run multiple marathons, an ultra-marathon and a triathlon. In 2023, I went on to train as a yoga teacher specialising in Vinyasa and Hatha (going on to train in Yin and Trauma Informed Yoga). I now have the utter joy and privilege of teaching yoga regularly.
In 2024, having set on this path of self discovery, I chose to step away from my role in Project Management at a major University and retrain as a life coach. I have known deeply from childhood (proclaiming age 11 that I wanted to run an anti-bullying hotline) that my mission is to be in service and to support those who are in moments of uncertainty and challenge. I am eternally grateful I get to channel this through the wonders of life coaching. Life coaching is an utterly transformative process and I myself have benefited from countless hours of coaching.
Bringing my two passions in life together (movement and mindset) through Journey On, is the acknowledgement that we cannot simply work on our minds, without bringing our bodies (and souls!) along for the ride.
My mission is to empower women, like you and me, to step unapologetically into the lives they truly want - setting themselves free from perfectionism, fear and limitation and not settling on a path just because it’s the one they happen to find themselves on today. I work with bold, ambitious women who are done with letting fear call the shots. They’re ready to break free, take up space and design a life that truly excites them.
We journey on because we refuse to live life on autopilot.
We journey on because we get to choose what happens next.
We journey on because life is too damn short not to love who we are and what we do!
